Message from Program Director

Kyoto University is pleased to announce the participation of the Amgen Scholars Program in 2024, with great appreciation to the Amgen Foundation for their support.

We are delighted to welcome Amgen scholars who demonstrate enthusiasm, curiosity, and a commitment to academic excellence.

Based on the Kyoto University’s founding principles of academic freedom and fostering independent thinking, the program aims to provide students with practical laboratory experience, and greatly enhance their lives and future careers.

Participants on the program will have the unique opportunity to live and study in Kyoto—the historic former capital of Japan, replete with its temples, shrines and traditional gardens. They will have the benefit of working alongside dedicated faculty members and fellow researchers at the forefront of their fields. It is our hope that the program will inspire scholars to pursue adventurous and productive careers in research and contribute to the advancement of science.
